with design week happening in zurich, we have been thinking about what good design actually means to us at les solides.
for us, it starts with a simple idea: good design should last.
not only physically, but also in the way you feel about it. we want to create pieces that you can wear for years, that work with different parts of your life and that don't lose their relevance over time
quality comes first
quality is one of the most important parts of our design process.
we pay attention to the materials we use, how a piece is made and how it feels when you actually wear it. for us, good design and good craftsmanship go hand in hand.
this is also something we value about swiss design: a focus on precision, functionality, quality and things that are built to last.
we don't want to create jewellery that is made for one particular moment. we want to create pieces that become part of your everyday life and that you can continue to choose years from now.
inspired by nature
we are inspired by the simplicity, its balance and the way nothing feels excessive. this is reflected in the shapes of our jewelery — clean, considered and reduced to what we feel is essential.
simplicity is important to us because everyday life is often anything but simple. there is a lot happening around us, and we like the idea that the things we wear can bring a little sense of calm into that.
timeless design
when we talk about timelessness, we don't mean that everything has to look classic.
for us, it means creating pieces with a strong and clear design that can exist beyond a specific moment.
we spend a lot of time thinking about proportions, shapes and details. removing what isn't necessary is often just as important as deciding what to add.
the result should feel simple, but not empty. minimal, but still recognisable.
